“Calcium always needs vitamin K.”

Facts

Vitamin K supports bone mineralisation, but deficiency is uncommon in healthy adults.

Vitamin K is required for the activation of proteins involved in bone mineralisation and the inhibition of vascular calcification. [14]

Vitamin K deficiency is relatively uncommon in healthy adults, and a normal diet usually provides an adequate source of vitamin K. [15]
